Blairstown

Blairstown has been named the first Appalachian Trail Community

The Township of Blairstown is a small, artsy town with plenty of art galleries, museums and the Historic Blairstown Theatre.  The Blairstown Township Historical District has 177 structures, and is on the State and National Register of Historical Places. An Appalachian Trail Community, it has plenty of parks and areas for hiking, walking, biking, fishing and other outdoor activities.  Some of these outdoor areas are Worthington State Forest, Blair Lake Spillway and Footbridge and Millbrook Village. Dedicated to education, Blairstown has several schools in addition to the public schools, including the prestigious boarding school Blair Academy and the Ridge and Valley Charter School.  The Township also has a great sense of community, hosting such things as Weekend Farmers Markets and art events too. It has a nice, quaint downtown area with many galleries, shops, cafes and restaurants. Small businesses are some of the things that make Blairstown a quintessential “Small Town America” village.
