Frelinghuysen Township is an attractive, rural community.  In 24 square miles, Frelinghuysen Township offers mountains, valleys, rivers, marshes, rock ledges and rolling farmland, as well as history including historic villages, houses and churches. It is the outdoor lover’s paradise! Frelinghuysen Township is part of the Kittatinny Valley, which is part of the Great Appalachian Valley.  Frelinghuysen Forest Preserve offers an impressive trail system with 6 miles of trails and wildlife management for walking and hiking. 

Tons of outdoor recreational activities are available like walking, hiking, boating, kayaking and canoeing. Frelinghuysen Township has Mud Pond, which has 565 types of wildlife and plant species, Jenny Jump State Park with views of the Delaware Water Gap, Kittatinny Mountain and Great Meadows Valley. 

Frelinghuysen Township also has the well known Yellow Frame Church since 1786 and the Yellow Frame Church Cemetery, which contains many revolutionary era burials. 

Frelinghuysen Township has been ranked 4th by New Jersey Family on its list of “New Jersey’s Best towns for Families.”
