Sparta Township is a lovely community with many lakes, beautiful scenery, situated about an hour from NYC, and it has been voted one of the safest towns in NJ.

Sparta is a really nice town with a great sense of community. It was recently ranked the second safest town in New Jersey. There are great public schools with private school options available. Sparta has a country feel with private lakes, rolling hills, picturesque settings and Sparta Mountain. Beautiful Lake Mohawk is the center of the community, hosting many community events like Dragon Boat Races, the Memorial Day Parade & the Turkey Trot Race. Boating, kayaking and many sandy beaches are some of the things to enjoy on the lake, including the Ski Hawks water skiing team. For the sports/athletic enthusiasts, there are the Lake Mohawk pool & Lake Mohawk Golf Club, a bowling alley, and numerous fitness clubs like Crossfit, Pure Barre, and the Sparta Athletic Club. Sparta has a theatre, many delicious restaurants, pizza places, ice cream stores, delis & some wonderful bakeries located just in the center of town. Sparta also has two supermarkets, a farmers’ market, many banks and dry cleaners, and there are also many churches in town. Sparta has everything! Some sought after communities are Lake Mohawk, Skyview, West Shore, Sunset Lakes, Sussex Mills, Fox Hollow, Sparta Chase and Lake Saginaw. There are many housing options in Sparta, such as luxury homes, lakefront homes, condos and senior housing. Above all, Sparta is a very fun place to live and work too, and it is within a hour by car to New York City.
